Yet more plaudits for Animal Collective as The Sunday Times end-of-year reckoning is added to our Best Of 2009 roundup.
They've topped the overwhelming majority of lists and it's now only a question of by how much they'll be ahead of the rest.
However the Sunday Times (in an odd arrangement which omitted new artists such as The XX from their main Best Of selection) threw up a couple of surprises. Chief among them was the choice of Nigerian singer Nneka's album No Longer At Ease at number two.
Elsewhere there was an emphasis on English pop, with high marks for Noah and the Whale and Madness, as well as Jamie T. And Wild Beasts are now serious contenders for the No.2 slot alongside the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
